The Trip Home

Well we woke up on Sunday to about 5 inches of snow. We thought it was only going to rain. But, it made for a beautiful ride home. The roads on the way home were not really clear at all and it was still snowing/sleeting. We had to go over 2 different mountains and it was a little scary. But, we made it safely. In fact, there weren't any accidents until we got back into DC.

The snow also provided a unique opportunity for us. Andrew has been wanting a special picture of cows for as long as I can remember. He thought it would be cool to have a picture of black cows in white snow. But, we only see cows on our way home to Roanoke on the side of 81 and we can't really stop to take their picture. And there isn't usually snow on the ground when we are traveling. But, on our way home from West Virginia we passed farm after farm. So, not only did he get his picture, I believe I counted 50 pictures of cows in snow. It was kind of funny, everytime we stopped to take their picture, all the cows would just look at us like, "what do you want?"

We think this baby cow was just born. His fur was very wet and messy looking and if you look close he still has a little umbilical cord.
