New Haircut

I got a new haircut yesterday. My good friend, Jaime's, younger sister came over and cut and colored my hair. It was so much easier than taking Madeline to a salon. I was ready for a change seeing as how I don't have as long to dry my hair anymore. I am not sure how Madeline feels about it though :) She looks a little upset. I think she still recognizes her mommy though.

Kim's Baby Shower

My friend, Kim, is having a baby in March. So, this past weekend, We headed to Richmond for her baby shower. (Kim is holding Madeline in this picture.) Out of 6 roommates from college, Kim is the 3rd one to have a baby. Number 4 is on the way in April.

Madeline was very excited to hang out with her Aunts Jenny...

and Jeni.

After Kim's shower, we all went out for dinner.

Then a few of us headed over to Jenny's parents' house and played "Apples to Apples". Mrs. Robertson kicked our butts.

Madeline spent her first night in her pack n' play. She did a great job!

And she enjoyed spending time with the Robertsons the next morning.

6 Weeks Old

It is so hard to believe that it has already been 6 weeks since Madeline was born. Time is already flying by. I remember sitting in her room and rocking her when she turned one week old. I just cried and cried. (Partly due to all the hormones that were going crazy after giving birth) Andrew walked in and saw me crying and all I could do was point to the clock and say "She's a week old".

It is so amazing to watch her grow. She is changing so much. She is usually a very happy girl. She loves to be on her changing table. That is where she "talks" and smiles the most. She loves her baths. And she loves to sit up like a big girl so she can see what is going on. She sleeps pretty well. I only have to wake up once a night to feed her. When it is time to go to bed, we swaddle her up and then lay her in her bed and she will usually drift off to sleep (as long as she has her pacifier).

Since she is growing up so quickly, we figured we should document this time in her life. So, we went to Sear's today and had her pictures made. I have to say, that I really liked Sear's. The lady that we worked with us was really great. We actually spent 3 1/2 hours there! So, here are some of the pictures that we got.

crawling

This video makes me laugh. I am not sure what she is doing or where she is going. But, I guess all of Andrew's crawling and walking practice with her is paying off.

More Boring Videos for Granny B

The next 3 videos are pretty boring. So, don't feel obligated to watch them. But, I know a good Granny who will probably enjoy them while she is away from her precious grandbaby :)

waking up

I didn't let her cry that long! Plus it was time for her to get up and eat!

swing

See Granny B... Madeline loves her swing! Thanks!

Faces

Some friends of ours, Kim and Ian, came over last weekend. We had a great time just hanging out with them. They got to meet Madeline for the first time. We enjoyed seeing them love on our little girl. These are a few of the pictures that Kim took of her while she was here.

Happy New Year!

After spending Chritmas down in Roanoke, we headed to Andrew's parent's house in Alexandria,VA. They had missed seeing their grandbaby for a whole week, so they were ready to see her again.

Madeline turned 1 month old on New Year's Day. It is amazing how much she is changing already. She can focus on people's faces and she gives us lots of smiles in the mornings after a good night's sleep. She isn't sleeping through the night yet. But, she did go for 6 hours last night! So, we are getting pretty close.

Every year, our college friends get together for New Years. We seemed to have a much smaller crowd this year with the Whited's in India, the Jordan's in Alabama, the Noll's in Japan and the Lookabill's sick. We missed them all very much. But, it was great to hang out with good friends again. I really liked all the girl time we got as the boys play Settlers and other games. That is something I really miss as we have all spread across the globe.

We went to "the Awakening" in DC. Here are all the girls, minus Madeline. She was being fussy and cold.

Here's the group eating dinner together, minus Andrew, because he is taking the picture.

A Happy New Year's kiss for Madeline!

And one from her BFF Kathryn!

Merry Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we went over to my grandmother's house to celebrate Christmas with my Dad's side of the family. It was a fun night. We enjoyed watching everyone enjoy our new little girl.

Her MeeMaw (my grandmother) especially enjoyed her. :)

The house was full of kids. It is so fun to watch them open their presents. My little cousin, Abby, really "yuved baby Madeline".
I just thought this was a sweet picture of my brother, Nathaniel, and my cousin Will.

Madeline got to meet her Great, Great, Great Aunt Mildred.

On Christmas morning we dressed Madeline in her Christmas present outfit from Granny B and opened presents with my family.

PawPaw held her most of the morning.

She even got a stocking from Santa. I'm not sure that she liked the giant stocking attacking her.

But, she was a happy girl most of the morning. (Especially when she was back in someone's arms.)

My grandfather, Popeye, came over later for lunch to meet his newest great granddaughter. We were sad that my Aunt Phyllis couldn't come too. But, she was sick at home. Very sad :(

My aunt Sharon stayed at our house and even played with Madeline one morning at 4am when she wouldn't go back to sleep.

Giving Kisses!

The next day was beautiful, so we bundled Madeline up and went for a walk in the neighborhood to go visit some neighbors.

We had a great Christmas in Roanoke and miss being with Granny B, PawPaw and Uncle Bubba (aka Nathaniel).

Beautiful Girl

Today was a very sad day in the Glenn household. Andrew had to go back to work for the first time since Madeline was born. We were so blessed with a whole month as a family together. But, now we miss our daddy something terrible. So, here is a small video of Andrew and Madeline's first month together. Madeline truly is a daddy's girl!
