Bath Time!

Madeline recently went through a phase where she didn't like her bath at all. We had to wash her as fast as we could while she screamed and screamed. But, things are lookin' up. We put down a bath mat for her and now she loves the bath again. She crawls all over the place, drinks the water, chases the soap around, eats the soap, chews on her toys and explores the faucet. Life is finally good again. :)

When she's all done, she gets all warm and cuddly in her towel.

I'm glad she likes her bath again. Now, getting on her jammies... that's a whole other story.

Nana Time!

Since Andrew's mom is a teacher, she has had the whole summer off. Which means that Madeline has had a little extra time to hang out with her Nana. Nana comes up to hang out with Madeline while I get out for a little bit to do some shopping or something. It is a great time for Madeline to get her Nana time and a great time for me to get some things done without a very wiggly and mobile Madeline. Isn't summer wonderful :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday came and went while we were at Myrtle Beach on July 13th. We went to a Japanese Restaurant, my favorite, to celebrate. That piece of cheesecake was the first bit of cheese that I have had since Madeline was about a month old. She is allergic. But, I just couldn't pass it up. It was a very special day. :) And on a side note, Andrew blew out my candle. Yep, that's right. I didn't even get to blow out my own birthday candle. Sad, but true.

On the way home from dinner, we had an added bonus. We got to see this wonderful car. It was just like the one from Back to The Future. The license plate said "bttf.com".

The best part of my birthday was my birthday present. I got a new camera. Actually it is for Andrew's birthday also... as well our anniversary. We got a new Nikon D80. We have been looking at getting a new camera for a while now. So, we finally took the plunge for my birthday. So we have the D80 with a 18mm-135mm lens and we couldn't be happier. :) We took about 1700 pictures while we were at the beach. Pretty rediculous if you ask me.

Myrtle Beach (Part Two)

Madeline was a good girl for most of the week. But, she had a very hard time sleeping. My mom would stay up with her most mornings so I could go back to sleep. But, one morning, when she woke up at 4:30am and wouldn't go back to sleep, Andrew, Madeline and I headed to the beach to watch the sun rise. Even though I missed my sleep, I am glad that we got to spend this beautiful morning together.

Madeline was ready to go back to sleep after a few hours on the beach. I guess it is pretty tiring being a beautiful model. :)

Myrtle Beach (Part One)

We just got back home, last night, from a week at Myrtle Beach with my (Naomi's) family. We had a great time!

Madeline still loves the sand and water. She doesn't mind getting down and dirty.

All the playing on the beach made her very tired. Granny's arms were the perfect place to take a little nap.

We don't have a glass front door at our house (and if we did it would just be the door across the hall to look at). So, Madeline loved to stand at the front door and look out. And she wanted the rain to go away so we could go out and play.

We went out on the beach one evening looking for some photo ops.

On Wednesday night we headed to one of our favorite restarants, The Chesapeake House. It was a childhood favorite because we always got to feed the alligators around back after we ate dinner. We didn't get to see the alligator this time. But, there were a lot of turtles and a crane who was catching his dinner while we all watched. It was pretty fun. Madline met some friends while we waited for dinner. She isn't too crazy about strangers. But, I guess if they are kids, then she loves them. She kept trying to crawl all over this little boy.

At The Beach

We are at Myrtle Beach right now with my family. I will be posting a lot of pictures when we get home. But, here are a few for now.

Madeline has been enjoying eating the sand. It gives her a great gotee.

Andrew and Madeline have been enjoying many games of chase around the beach.
Madeline loves the sand and the waves! She's a little beach bum.

She Has A Name

Well, after 7 months, Madeline finally has her name on the wall. I bought these letters at Michael's way before she was born. But, then I had to paint them and figure out how to put them on the wall. So, they have been hiding under her bed for a long time. Trying to hang 8 perfectly level letters on the wall seemed impossible. We finally found these shelves at The Container Store and they work perfectly.
