Cookouts

Having a cookout with great friends is a great way to spend the evening.

Having corn holders makes it even more awesome.

Circus

Last weekend, Nana and Papa took us to the Circus.  The kids always have so much fun.  Madeline loved the tight rope "walkers", which were pretty amazing.  And Oliver loved the tigers.  Lucy just liked all the excitement.

Feels Like Summer

The Temperatures warmed way up on Sunday.  Madeline snuck up to her room while I was nursing Lucy (she ran really fast by Lucy's room so I wouldn't see her) and quietly put on her bathing suit and snuck back downstairs to ask daddy to set up the swimming pool.  But, instead of setting up the swimming pool, we opted for putting the sprinkler under the trampoline.  They had a blast while we got a little gardening done.

Riding Bikes

Madeline has been very eager to take her training wheels off.  I think she will have this bike riding thing down pretty soon.  She can actually keep balanced for a tiny bit.  It is just hard for her to get the momentum going.  Her balance bike was way lighter.

She definitely has the bell ringing down though.

High Heels

These may or may not be one of Oliver's new favorite accessories.  He actually walks in them pretty well.  He tried to wear them to Chick Fil A the other day.  I encouraged him to wear his Crocs instead.

Leader

Madeline came home from school a few weeks ago with this sticker on.  I'm not really sure what her duties were.  But, It's pretty exciting stuff to be the leader at school.

Tag Hat

This hat is not only good for keeping your head warm.  But, when worn inside out, it has a wonderful tag for getting your tag fix.  Oliver can now be seen sleeping with his hat on and riding in the car with his hat on and of course, rubbing the tag while it is on his head.

Fruits and Veggies

Farmers, Andrew and Madeline, have completed their garden.

They put new soil into the ground.

Mixed it up well.

Laid out all the plants.

Measured where they were supposed to go.

Planted them.

Put up a deer fence.  And now we are waiting to see what we get.  We planted strawberries, tomatoes, corn, sunflowers, green beans, zucchini, onions, peppers, lettuce, pumpkins and watermelon.  Our garden seems to be getting more shade now that all the leaves are coming back on the trees.  So, we will see what we get.  But, it has been fun to be out working in the garden.

Birdies

A little Robin family decided to build their nest right outside of Madeline's bedroom window.  We're hoping to find some baby birds in there pretty soon.  I am a little worried because we haven't seen momma bird in her nest the past few times we have looked.  Hopefully she will be back soon.

7 Months

Lucy is 7 months old now and she is on the move.  She loves to get into things she isn't supposed to, like the padding around the hearth.  She tries to rip it off all day long.  She loves to find the dust mop and eat it and she loves to find things to eat in the sliding glass door frame.  yuck!  She has no problems putting anything and everything in her mouth.  Except for pureed baby food.  She was doing great eating her baby food.  Now, she wants nothing to do with it and will keep her lips and teeth tightly shut.  So, she is eating finger foods like eggs, waffles, green beans, black beans, puffs, cheerios, rice and bananas.  I think I am ok with this though.  It is much easier to throw some food on her tray and let her eat while I am getting everyone else's food as well.

She is crawling all over the house.  She follows Oliver around while he plays with his toys.  She tries to get up the steps.  But, she hasn't figured it out yet.  I don't think it will be long.  Our floor gets swept several times a day now to keep her from eating everything in her path.

She is pulling up on all kinds of things.  We have lowered her bed now so that she doesn't fall out.  She seems so far away now when I lay her down.

She has been watching a signing video while she eats and she is starting to do the sign for milk.  I don't know if it is legit.  But, it seems to be when she wants to eat.

She loves to be outside with the big kids and she likes riding in the blue car.  She holds on to the steering wheel and looks like she is driving all over.

She is starting to sleep much better.  She was getting into a better schedule at night.  But, then she got strep.  So, she went back to waking up several times a night.  But, I think she is getting back to sleeping through the night.  She has slept through the night for the past 3 out of 5 nights.  So, that is good news for everyone.  She takes a 2 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap.

She is such a happy baby.  She smiles at people whenever we are out, getting lots of attention.  It is pretty easy to make her giggle by tickling her or throwing her up in the air.  Madeline and Oliver get lots of smiles and giggles from her as well.  She is a very content baby and will entertain herself for a while.  When she gets tired she will usually crawl to me and want to be held.  We sure do love our little Lucy!
