Night Life in Myrtle Beach

After we spent our days down on the beach and Madeline had a good nap, we usually went out to eat dinner somewhere. A few of our favorites were the Japanese Steak House and The Cheasapeake House. We also ordered in a few nights. Madeline did a great job in all the restaurants. We brought lots of stickers and crayons for her to play with. And, at home, we have been working on staying in our seats until everyone is finished eating. So, no one had to leave the restaurant to entertain Madeline this year.

Before bedtime each night, we usually hung out at the beach house and played with Madeline. She liked to play with her toys, tickle mommy's feet and read books with everyone.

One evening, we decided to do a family photoshoot on the beach.

It was hard to keep everyone focused at the task at hand, especially Madeline. She enjoyed throwing the sand and spinning more than posing for pictures.

But, we ended up with a few cute pictures. This one is courtesy of mom.

Madeline must have found something very interesting in Pawpaw's mouth.

But, the highlight of the week, and what Madeline still talks about, were the rides at Broadway at the Beach. She still talks about the "cars, boats, horsey's, boom booms at beach." We actually went 3 different nights because it was fun to watch her enjoy all the rides. (And someone gave us 10 extra tickets that they didn't use.)

A lot of these rides were rides that I rode on when I was little. Like these motorcycles.

Here is a picture of my brother and I on the same motorcycles when I was about Madeline's age. The rides were always my favorite part of going to the beach every year while I was growing up.
This is another one that I rode when I was little. I couldn't find any pictures of it though.

She really prefered the rides that she could ride with someone. So, everyone got their chance to ride rides with Madeline!

The last night, Madeline had quite the paparazzi following her. We had 3 Nikon D80's and 2 tripods following her around. So, Andrew took the opportunity to take some fun light trail pictures. (So, did Nathaniel and Mom, but this isn't their blog. So, I don't have their pictures to post.)
Well, this should wrap up our trip to the beach. We had a great time. Madeline still talks about it. Next year, we will have another little guy with us and we will get to enjoy watching him discover the beach for the first time. Can't wait!
