Christmas with The Glenns

We spent the few days before Christmas with Andrew's family. We headed down on Monday after Andrew's parents got off of work. We went to a Christmas party that night so Nana could show off her sweet Madeline to some friends from church.

On Tuesday, Marg had a half day at school, so while she was at work in the morning, we headed to the mall to see Santa. We were totally expecting Madeline to not like Santa at all. She usually gives men the evil eye. But, when she saw him, she would say, "ho ho" and she kept trying to get to him. There were only two families in front of us. So, we didn't have to wait too long. When she got on his lap, we clapped a lot so she would think it was great. And she did. She smiled and clapped for the camera. So, we have her first picture with Santa now. I know I just posted the picture in the last blog. But, I also wanted to point out that they put "Happy Holidays" on the card instead of Merry Christmas. What other holiday has Santa Claus in it? I think this Happy Holidays thing is getting a little out of control.

Tuesday evening, we headed up to Daniel and Katherine's house for a family Christmas dinner and presents. Madeline enjoyed their dogs. Sam and Frodo are always excited to see Madeline.

She also really liked their recycling bin. She climbed in and out of it and played with all of the containers in it. She brought a few over to share with Papa Paul.

She had fun with her Aunt Katherine as well. Katherine let her play with a straw, which she enjoys a lot.

Madeline got some fun presents. She got a Little People Zoo and Racing Ramps (she actually plays with both of these quite a bit.) She also got some cool jeans and this bear that I got her from Walmart. She saw it on a shelf from the buggy and kept signing bear. When I handed it to her, she just hugged and hugged it. It also lights up and changes colors (a little weird). So, I decided to get it for her and she now loves it.

On Wednesday, Madeline enjoyed some time outside (or "ow si" as Madeline says it) while we waited for Papa Paul to come home from work. She got to play a little soccer.

She loved swinging with Daddy and Nana

She sure does love her Daddy.

After a full day of playing and hanging out with Nana and Papa Paul, she got a bath and got her new Christmas jammies on.

I like the tradition of giving your kids a new set of PJs on Christmas Eve each year. I think Andrew and I will get some as well next year. :)

Then we packed up all of our things and headed down to Roanoke.
