Lucy's First Haircut

We took Lucy to The Yellow Balloon for her first haircut.  We let Oliver go first while we waited for Andrew to join us.

Madeline entertained herself and Lucy on the ride on toys.

And Oliver didn't scream and throw a fit like the last time I took him to get his haircut.  A lot can change in a year.

Daddy finally arrived and it was Lucy's turn.  We were mainly trying to get rid of the mullet.

Oliver finished up.  Isn't he so handsome?

I had no idea how Lucy would do.  But, she sat quietly on Andrew's lap the entire time.

All done!

Agricultural History Farm Park

This was our first year heading to the Harvest Festival at the Farm Park.  Gigi and Pawpaw were in town, so they got to go along with us.

We got to take a hay ride and hear about the old farm from the old owner's granddaughter.  It was neat to hear a little about her summers here when she was growing up.

There were lots of fun activities for the kids to do like corn cob doll making, marble making, candle making, cutting flowers to make a bouquet,

collecting eggs from the hen house,

grinding corn for corn meal,

fetching water,

washing clothes,

wringing them and then hanging them up to dry.

We took a break to watch some races.

And finished with a quick trip through in and out of the corn maze.

Family Bike Ride

Our first family bike ride back in September was a success thanks to a baby seat on Andrew's bike, a balance bike for Oliver and a 4 year old bike riding professional.  I'm excited for many more bike trips.

Labor Day Parade

A little late on this, but we enjoyed a Labor Day parade on none other than... Labor Day.  Imagine that!  It was hot and sticky.  But, fun.

Happy Halloween

This is the best group shot we got this year.  I'm not sure what Madeline is turning Lucy into.  But, whatever it was, I don't think it could be much cuter.

We started the evening at our neighborhood Halloween Parade.

After bundling up a little more, we headed out to trick-or-treat at our neighbor's house.

Then we met up with the Coopers and hit the town homes across the street.

We headed home a couple hours later with some tired kiddos and some heavy pumpkin buckets.  I would call it a success.
