Lucy is 7 months old now and she is on the move. She loves to get into things she isn't supposed to, like the padding around the hearth. She tries to rip it off all day long. She loves to find the dust mop and eat it and she loves to find things to eat in the sliding glass door frame. yuck! She has no problems putting anything and everything in her mouth. Except for pureed baby food. She was doing great eating her baby food. Now, she wants nothing to do with it and will keep her lips and teeth tightly shut. So, she is eating finger foods like eggs, waffles, green beans, black beans, puffs, cheerios, rice and bananas. I think I am ok with this though. It is much easier to throw some food on her tray and let her eat while I am getting everyone else's food as well.
She is crawling all over the house. She follows Oliver around while he plays with his toys. She tries to get up the steps. But, she hasn't figured it out yet. I don't think it will be long. Our floor gets swept several times a day now to keep her from eating everything in her path.
She is pulling up on all kinds of things. We have lowered her bed now so that she doesn't fall out. She seems so far away now when I lay her down.
She has been watching a signing video while she eats and she is starting to do the sign for milk. I don't know if it is legit. But, it seems to be when she wants to eat.
She loves to be outside with the big kids and she likes riding in the blue car. She holds on to the steering wheel and looks like she is driving all over.
She is starting to sleep much better. She was getting into a better schedule at night. But, then she got strep. So, she went back to waking up several times a night. But, I think she is getting back to sleeping through the night. She has slept through the night for the past 3 out of 5 nights. So, that is good news for everyone. She takes a 2 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap.
She is such a happy baby. She smiles at people whenever we are out, getting lots of attention. It is pretty easy to make her giggle by tickling her or throwing her up in the air. Madeline and Oliver get lots of smiles and giggles from her as well. She is a very content baby and will entertain herself for a while. When she gets tired she will usually crawl to me and want to be held. We sure do love our little Lucy!
